Metal Signs in Edmonton for Commercial, Industrial, and Architectural Applications
Metal signs project permanence and professionalism in a way that vinyl and printed substrates do not. For building identification, safety signage, architectural elements, and any application where long-term durability and a premium material appearance are priorities, aluminum and steel are the standard.
Metal Sign Materials We Work With
Aluminum, Dibond, Steel, and Brushed Finishes
Aluminum is the most common metal for commercial signage: lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and available in a range of gauges and finishes. Aluminum composite material (Dibond) uses a polyethylene core between two thin aluminum skins to produce a rigid, lightweight panel suited to large-format flat sign applications. Steel is heavier but provides higher structural strength for industrial environments and sign frame structures.
Brushed aluminum and anodised aluminum finishes are used for architectural sign elements, premium reception signs, dimensional letters, and building identification plaques where the material itself is part of the aesthetic. Powder-coated aluminum and steel resist corrosion, UV degradation, and temperature cycling without surface deterioration across Edmonton’s full climate range.
Metal Sign Applications
Five Metal Sign Applications for Commercial and Industrial Use
Metal signs are appropriate for a wide range of commercial applications. We fabricate every format in-house at our Edmonton facility.
01
Building Identification and Address Plaques
Aluminum or Dibond panels with cut or printed lettering for building facades, entrances, and property identification. Long-term outdoor durability with powder-coated or anodised finishes rated for Edmonton’s UV intensity and temperature cycling.
02
Safety and Regulatory Signs
Aluminum panels with standardised regulatory graphics for industrial and commercial facilities. Aggressive adhesive or mechanical mounting options. Compliant with applicable safety standards. Produced in any quantity from single signs to facility-wide programs.
03
Post-and-Panel and Directory Signs
Dibond or aluminum panels on steel post structures for property entrances and multi-tenant directories. Flat, rigid, and compatible with direct print and vinyl graphic applications. Replaceable panels for properties where messaging changes over time.
04
Parking and Directional Signs
Aluminum panels with reflective vinyl graphics for parking management, traffic direction, and property wayfinding. Reflective graphics provide visibility at night and in low-light conditions. Standard and custom sizes produced in-house.
05
Dimensional Letters and Architectural Elements
CNC-routed or cut aluminum letters and logos in any shape, mounted to building faces or reception walls. Brushed or anodised aluminum panels for building facade treatments and interior feature elements where the material appearance is part of the design.

Materials, Finishes, and Edmonton Climate
Powder-Coated and Anodised for Edmonton's Full Climate Range.
We specify the right metal, finish, and hardware for each application. The finish and fasteners are as important as the sign face material.
Metal signs specified with appropriate protective finishes perform very well in Edmonton’s full climate range. Powder-coated aluminum and steel resist corrosion, UV degradation, and temperature cycling without the surface deterioration that affects painted or uncoated metals. For outdoor applications, we specify powder coating or anodising as appropriate for the metal type and exposure level.
Fastening hardware is specified in stainless steel or coated carbon steel to prevent galvanic corrosion at mounting points. This detail is often overlooked but is a common failure point on metal signs: the sign face holds up but the fasteners corrode. We specify and supply appropriate hardware for every installation.
We print directly onto aluminum and Dibond panels using UV-cured inks, and apply vinyl graphics to metal substrates. Direct print on metal produces a durable, flat graphic surface. Vinyl applied to metal can be updated or removed if messaging needs to change without replacing the metal panel.
Powder-Coated Aluminum
Resists corrosion, UV degradation, and temperature cycling. Minimal maintenance: cleaning and periodic hardware inspection. Touch-up paint supplied for any chips.
Anodised Aluminum
Hard, durable surface layer that maintains the metallic appearance while adding corrosion resistance. Used for architectural sign elements, dimensional letters, and premium reception signs.
Dibond Composite Panels
Flatter and lighter than solid aluminum of equivalent rigidity. Less prone to warping over large spans. Standard for post-and-panel, directory, and large outdoor flat sign applications.
Stainless Hardware
Fastening hardware specified in stainless steel or coated carbon steel. Prevents galvanic corrosion at mounting points, the most common failure mode on long-term outdoor metal sign installations.
Fabrication and Installation
CNC Fabricated In-House. Installed by Our Team.
We fabricate metal signs in-house using CNC routing, cutting, and drilling equipment. Aluminum and Dibond panels are cut to precise dimensions, routed for mounting hardware, and finished with powder coating or print as specified. Dimensional letters are cut from aluminum sheet or plate in any font and thickness, then finished and mounted.
Our installation team handles mounting, hardware installation, and site cleanup for all metal sign types. Powder-coated metal signs require minimal maintenance: periodic cleaning with mild soap and water and inspection of fastening hardware. We provide touch-up paint specifications for signs we fabricate so any impact chips can be addressed before corrosion sets in.
