Boat Wraps in Edmonton for Recreational and Commercial Watercraft
A boat wrap updates the look of a vessel without the cost, permanence, or preparation requirements of a full repaint. Change the colour scheme of a recreational boat, add branded graphics to a commercial craft, or apply hull protection graphics. Durable, customizable, and reversible.
Vinyl vs. Marine Paint
Shorter Downtime. Lower Cost. Reversible.
Marine paint produces an excellent finish but requires significant surface preparation, application time, and curing before the vessel can return to the water. Vinyl wrap is a practical alternative: shorter production and installation timeline, typically lower cost than a comparable quality repaint, and the vinyl can be removed in the future without damaging the gelcoat surface underneath.
For commercial operators, wrap graphics carry company branding, vessel identification, regulatory markings, and contact information in a single cohesive application. When graphics need to be updated, the wrap is removed and replaced rather than requiring the vessel to be refinished. For recreational owners, wrap allows colour and design changes that would be impractical or prohibitively expensive in paint.
Boat Wrap Applications
Five Marine Wrap Applications. Marine-Grade Materials Throughout.
Every boat wrap application has different material requirements. We specify marine-grade vinyl appropriate for the surface, exposure, and use of each installation.
01
Hull Wraps
Graphics applied to the hull sides above the waterline. The most visually prominent application on most recreational boats. We use marine-grade vinyl formulations specified for water contact and UV exposure. Standard automotive vinyl is not appropriate for waterline applications.
02
Full Boat Wraps
Complete exterior wrap coverage from hull to deck surfaces. Most common on smaller vessels where the entire exterior can be practically covered in a single installation. On larger vessels, a significant project requiring experienced applicators and marine-specific materials.
03
Partial Wraps and Accent Graphics
Colour accents, racing stripes, branded graphics, and partial coverage designs that update the look of a vessel without full hull coverage. The most common approach for recreational boats and jet skis where the owner wants a fresh design without full coverage.
04
Commercial Marine Graphics
Branding, vessel identification, charter information, and regulatory markings for commercial fishing boats, charter vessels, and water taxis. Materials rated for continuous water exposure, UV intensity, and the physical wear associated with working vessels.
05
Personal Watercraft Wraps
Jet ski and personal watercraft wraps in custom colours and graphics. Personal watercraft present curved surfaces and tight contours requiring careful application technique. We work with cast vinyl formulations that conform to compound curves without lifting or wrinkling.

Marine Vinyl Materials
Marine-Grade Materials Specified for Water, UV, and Abrasion.
Standard automotive vinyl is not appropriate for marine applications. We specify materials matched to the exposure and use of each installation.
Not all vinyl is appropriate for boat and marine applications. Marine environments combine prolonged water exposure, UV radiation, and physical abrasion from docking and handling. We use marine-grade cast vinyl with adhesive systems formulated for wet environments and UV-stabilized face material that resists fading and chalking in extended outdoor water use.
For hull applications at or near the waterline, we specify adhesives appropriate for continuous water exposure. For above-waterline graphics and recreational boats that are not continuously in the water, cast automotive vinyl with appropriate laminate performs well. The right material specification depends on the application and how the vessel is used and stored.
A marine-grade vinyl boat wrap typically lasts 5 to 7 years depending on use, storage conditions, and UV exposure. Boats stored under covers or indoors when not in use see longer wrap life. Alberta’s UV intensity during summer does affect outdoor materials over time.
Marine-Grade Cast Vinyl
Adhesive systems formulated for wet environments. UV-stabilized face material rated for extended outdoor water use. Not standard automotive vinyl.
Waterline Adhesives
For hull applications at or near the waterline, we specify adhesives appropriate for continuous water immersion rather than standard vehicle wrap adhesives.
Cast Vinyl for Compound Curves
Personal watercraft and hulls with tight compound curves require cast vinyl that conforms without lifting or wrinkling. Applied with proper technique by experienced installers.
Indoor Year-Round Installation
All boat wrap installations performed in our climate-controlled Edmonton facility. Correct application temperature ensured regardless of outdoor conditions or season.
Surface Preparation and Installation
Surface Prep First. Applied in Our Climate-Controlled Facility.
Fiberglass is one of the most wrap-friendly boat hull materials. The smooth, non-porous surface provides good adhesion for marine vinyl. The hull surface should be clean, oxidation-free, and wax-free before application. We prepare the surface as part of the installation process. Marine vinyl wraps applied and removed correctly should not damage gelcoat or marine paint in good condition.
All boat wrap installations are performed in our climate-controlled Edmonton facility year-round. Vinyl application requires minimum temperature conditions for proper adhesion. Indoor installation eliminates weather as a variable and ensures quality results regardless of the time of year. We recommend professional removal rather than DIY to avoid adhesive issues with gelcoat.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about boat wraps from Edmonton boat owners and commercial operators.
Can vinyl wraps be applied to fiberglass hulls?
Yes. Fiberglass is one of the most wrap-friendly boat hull materials. The smooth, non-porous surface provides good adhesion for marine vinyl. The hull surface should be clean, oxidation-free, and wax-free before application. We prepare the surface as part of the installation process.
How long does a boat wrap last?
A marine-grade vinyl boat wrap typically lasts 5 to 7 years depending on use, storage conditions, and UV exposure. Boats stored on trailers under covers or indoors when not in the water see longer wrap life than those moored outdoors continuously. Alberta’s UV intensity during the summer season does affect outdoor materials over time.
Will a boat wrap damage the gelcoat or paint underneath?
Marine vinyl wraps applied and removed correctly should not damage gelcoat or marine paint in good condition. The vinyl protects the surface underneath from UV exposure and minor abrasion during the life of the wrap. We recommend professional removal rather than DIY to avoid adhesive issues.
