The Right Substrate for Every Surface and Environment
Not all decals are made from the same material. The substrate, adhesive, and laminate specification are determined by the surface the decal will be applied to, the environment it will live in, and how long it needs to perform. Outdoor applications require UV-stable cast vinyl. High-heat applications such as engine covers and machinery require heat-resistant formulations. Removable applications require repositionable or low-tack adhesives.

Die-Cut Vinyl Decals

Printed Vinyl Decals
Full-colour printed graphics on vinyl substrate, cut to shape or to a standard rectangle or circle. Allows photographic imagery, gradients, and complex multi-colour designs that cut vinyl cannot achieve. Produced with water-based latex inks for UV stability and scratch resistance. Available with or without clear overlaminate.

We specify the substrate, adhesive, and laminate combination matched to the surface, environment, and lifespan requirement of each decal application.
Outdoor decals produced on cast vinyl with UV-stable inks typically last 5 to 7 years in direct outdoor exposure. Economy calendered vinyl in outdoor conditions lasts 1 to 3 years. We use cast vinyl for all outdoor commercial applications. Alberta’s UV intensity makes this specification important for maintaining graphic appearance over time.
Most smooth, clean, dry surfaces accept vinyl decals well: painted metal, glass, powder-coated surfaces, plastic, and smooth-painted walls. Textured surfaces, rough concrete, and porous materials may require specific adhesive formulations or surface preparation. We advise on suitability during consultation.
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF with outlined fonts) are preferred for cut vinyl decals. For printed decals with photographic content, high-resolution raster files at 300 dpi at the intended print size are acceptable. We review files for production readiness and advise if adjustments are needed.

Production and Artwork
Precision Cut and Printed In-House. Any Shape, Any Size.
We produce all decals in-house using precision vinyl cutters for die-cut applications and large format print equipment for printed decals. Any shape can be cut to the exact outline of the artwork. Any size from a small label through to a large vehicle graphic panel. Production is managed at our Edmonton facility with no third-party labs involved.
We print to your CMYK or Pantone specifications and calibrate our production to target your brand colours as closely as possible. We advise on any colour rendering differences between screen display and printed vinyl before committing to production. Colour matching is particularly important for fleet and product labelling runs where consistency across batches matters.
