Our Process
How Edmonton Sign Projects Work
Most projects move through five stages. Permits are filed during production so approvals and fabrication run in parallel.

Consultation
On-site or virtual. We assess the location, discuss sign type options, and identify permit requirements before any design work begins.

Design and Proof
Our design team produces a visual proof showing the sign at scale on your building. Revisions are included until you approve the final design.

Production and Permit Filing
Fabrication begins in our Edmonton shop after design approval. For permitted installations, we submit the City of Edmonton application during production so both run in parallel.

Installation
Our crew handles all mounting, wiring, and finishing. For illuminated signs, electrical work is confirmed compliant with Alberta’s Safety Codes Act before the sign is energized.
For most signs, the full process takes two to four weeks from design approval to installed sign. Permitted installations may take five to six weeks total when municipal review time is included.
Permit Requirements
Edmonton Sign Permit Requirements
Most permanent exterior signs in Edmonton require a development permit under the City of Edmonton Zoning Bylaw. We manage both applications as part of the project.

Development Permit
Required for building signs, monument signs, pylon signs, and most permanent exterior signage under Edmonton’s Zoning Bylaw.
Electrical Permit
Required separately for illuminated signs under Alberta’s Safety Codes Act. We file both permit applications on your behalf.
Permits run in parallel with production – no waiting for approval before fabrication starts.
